ZAC SOUTAR GETS BEHIND SUPER SEPTEMBER CAMPAIGN
Muscular Dystrophy Australia ambassador Zac Soutar has been busy supporting the "Super September" campaign within his local Geelong region.
The Super September campaign is aimed at raising vital funds that go towards CampMDA and other programs aimed at empowering young people with muscular disabilities. The initiatives are designed to foster social inclusion and prepare participants with life skills to advocate for themselves, complete year 12, peruse further education or vocational training and ultimately, enter the workforce.
Both Zac and his Tufflift Racing Audi recently made a visit to Belmont High School as part of MDA's yearly campaign. On the day, students were invited to "unleash their inner superhero" and dress up as a figure that they look up too, as well as make a gold coin donation to help support the fantastic work of the MDA organization.
Speaking with local media and students on the day, Zac discussed the way in which he has learned about how important it is for children with a muscular disability to have peer connections and social inclusions during their school years.
"I support Super September as I believe it's vital to make sure that every Australian child with a muscular disability reaches their full potential," Zac said. "I hope Geelong can get behind this important initiative and support local Geelong children living with a muscle disability to enroll onto camps and programs."
MANDALIKA SUCCESS FOR GLENN NIRWAN
At the beginning of September, Glenn Nirwan spent the weekend representing the Tufflift Racing team on an International level at the Mandalika Festival of Speed.
The event, which was held at the stunning Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia, saw Glenn compete in the open Time Attack class in an Audi RS3 LMS TCR car that is identical to the #29 machine he races in Australia.
Running an incredible looking "stealth" Tufflift Racing livery, Glenn put in a fantastic lap to bring home a 3rd place overall finish. This was a very impressive result considering he was competing against mostly prototype and GT racing cars with much higher levels of power and downforce.
Glenn will be hoping to carry this momentum into the next round of the TCR Australia Series at Sydney Motorsport Park on the 19th - 20th of October.
